We can’t believe the Winter Auction is here… our season in Chicago has been so mild it this one crept up on us! Thankfully we’ve been rounding up an excellent assortment of paperweights that are now ready to come to market.  Starting February 29th, we’ll have a sampling from across the full spectrum of paperweight collecting; antique and modern designs. This one is not to be missed, we were very fortunate to have several incredible collections from some amazing consignors to choose from for this sale. If you are looking to consign, now is the time. We are offering favorable rates to those looking to sell modern lampwork pieces, and of course the rare of the rare antiques.

This month we have new arrivals from David Graeber, one of the best glass paperweight ambassadors and nicest guys around, Dave’s work is unrivaled. We are also offering Drew Ebelhare & Sue Fox paperweights at special pricing for the last days of February. I know this deal sounds like millefiori madness, but we think everyone should have one of their terrific pieces in a complete collection so give them a look.

We have some exciting news, that we can only share bits and pieces of for now. On September 17th we are holding a one day live auction of a world famous paperweight collection. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity that we are sure every paperweight lover will want to attend in person. While online bidding will be available, the Millefiori Mingle aboard the Columbia Yacht Club the night of Saturday the 17th will be an experience that not even the internet can replicate! We will be releasing details in the near future.. we can’t wait!

The winter of 2016 has arrived in Chicago. With it comes change to our gallery. We have new designs which can be found on our website, as well as new collections which have been set aside for placement in our upcoming 2016 Auctions.

One change comes with a heavy heart. Most of you have gotten to know Alexis Magaro over the years since the new LHS team took over 6 years ago. She has been an amazing talent that we have been fortunate to have on board. As you have now guessed, Alexis has chosen to pursue her other passions at this stage of her life, formally retiring as of January 1st. She has insisted that she wants to remain in contact with the friends she has made in our community, so please reach out to her at alexis@paperweight.com if you miss her as much as we will.
