Rare magnum antique Baccarat "B 1848" scattered millefiori and Gridel canes paperweight. A central Gridel moth, or butterfly, silhouette cane is surrounded by numerous assorted complex canes including a "blue flax" flower silhouette cane, a love bird cane and the Gridel silhouette canes of a horse, a deer, a dog, a goat, a rooster, a squirrel, a white monkey, a hunter and a pelican, on a cushion of white upset muslin and colored filigree. "B 1848" date cane. A ring of diamond cutting encircles the perimeter of the base. Thin line of dark striae on lower side. "The moth cane most often appears in or near the center of the motif. The separation of the large canes gives them a breathing space they do not have in the close millefiori and makes their colors look as bright as Clichy." - The Encyclopedia of Glass Paperweights. Rare antique Baccarat flat bouquet faceted paperweight. Rare antique Baccarat flat bouquet faceted paperweight, with a dazzling and rare floral group. A large central white buttercup forms the center, with a bundle of yellow star rods making up the stamen. It is flanked by two Type-I pansies, with shaded purple upper petals and a trio of cobalt blue and white arrowhead cane lower petals. The bouquet is crowned by a white double clematis, with a star cane center. A light green vine bearing a blue bud and green leaves entwines the central dark green stem. Six and one faceting. Star cut base. A broken stem below the clematis. "In contrast to the work of the other French factories, Baccarat produced conspicuously formal floral arrangements. These masterfully portrayed flowers combine to form a delightful garden. A flower-shaped design decorates the top of the piece, comprised of cobalt blue, red, and white arrowhead/six-point star canes, and salmon-pink, blue, and white cog/six-point star canes, outlined with white and cobalt blue complex six-point star canes. Very nice antique Baccarat millefiori butterfly over clematis paperweight. The butterfly, with turquoise eyes and four multicolored marbled millefiori wings extending from an amethyst latticinio body, hovers above a white double clematis with a red, green and white star center and white bud, framed by the bud and five radial green leaves. Lovely antique Baccarat looped garland and rose cane paperweight. A rare pink and green Baccarat rose cane is ringed by a slightly spaced circle of red, white and blue complex star canes at the center of the weight. An eight-looped garland frames this central motif alternating between loops of complex white star canes with yellow cores and complex canes of royal blue and white. Clear ground. Diameter 2 13/16". Extremely rare swan in a pond weight. A delicately crafted white opaque lampwork swan with red eyes and black beak swims in a clear glass pond ringed with green and white jasper, alternately described as pond weeds or grass. Six and one facets with a star cut base. Small annealing crack under the swan which is characteristic of hollow weights. Diameter 3". [hide]

The mushroom is formed of a central shamrock cane, surrounded by a ring of blue, red and white arrowhead/star canes, then a ring of white and coral star bundle canes with a third ring of coral green and white cog canes.
