Unidentified, probably Belgian, antique silver Athena sulphide paperweight. Seated before two kneeling children, the Greek goddess, Athena, holds a small basket and points with her right hand, as if indicating a direction for them to follow. A spear, shield and owl are at her side and the Parthenon presides in the distance. The silver sulphide is set above an opaque white ground and is garlanded by a red, white and blue torsade. Diameter 2 1/2".
